- Dream Apartment -
I swung my backpack in place, grabbed my hat, and rushed out the door. I had to meet the realtor at the apartment in fifteen minutes and I absolutely had to own this apartment.
I arrive at the old, eleven floor building at exactly 3:30 and met the agent out front. We made it to the tenth floor and the elevator doors open up to a large, open space.
The wooden floors were old and dark with the most comforting creek accompanying the occasional step. Directly in the center was an enormous tree trunk leading up to the eleventh floor. We walked around the width of the trunk, as the agent pointed out six bedrooms towards the walls. Surrounding the grand centerpiece was a wooden, spiral staircase. We followed the steps up to the eleventh floor through the branches and leaves.
Once on the top floor, the vision of sunlight peered through old pre-war windows and shined through the enormous oak tree's leaves. Dust danced in the sun beams, as silence graced us just for a second. I faced the realtor to hear she was talking about the two extra rooms, kitchen, and living room. I glanced at her right in the eyes and said, "I'll take it!".
