- hide & go -
Playfully I snickered and giggled, as I hid behind the arch that lived down the block from where we began the game.
"3, 2, 1...READY OR NOT, HERE I COME!"
My palms have begun to sweat and my giggles can simply not be contained, as I hear Faustina zoom by as she looks for us. Once a week, Mr. Catepillar and Ms. Butterfly join Faustina and I for a game of hide-and-go-seek. We've each have been 'it', but this was Faustina's first time playing the seeker. Peeking around the arch, I see Mr. Catepillar scaling the stump of a tree with his fuzzy, green body barely hidden - doesn't he know that a tree is never a very good hiding spot for him? Swiftly moving my eye, Ms. Butterfly is placed in between cars with her wings over her body, trying to 'blend in'. To say the least, these two were not very good at the game
Waiting patiently, I watch Faustina search for us - walking up and down the block looking everywhere. Seconds turn into minutes, minutes turn into hours, hours turn into days, days turn to weeks, and, at this point, you should know that we've been waiting for her to find us for thirteen years.
Giving one more glance around the arch, I see Faustina still tirelessly moving her eyes round and round. Annoyed of her nonsense, I jump out and shout, "COME ON MAN!"
Faustina rolls her eyes, sighs, and whines, "You know I can't see shit!"
